My Rotary Story, Edward Kisali

I joined Rotary after seeing many posts on what Rotary does  from the then manager of Whitestands Hotel Mohammed Hersi and my childhood friend Moses Muchai. My first meeting was in Mombasa but i was transferred to Nairobi where i got introduced to the Rotary Club of Ongata Rongai by Moses Muchai.

A meeting in Rotary is always fun and fulfilling and that makes you excited for the next meeting. Like the then president, Madam Lydia led the meetings in a way you do not want to miss the next one. I came back for more meetings because i liked the team members and was looking forward to meaningful friendship. There was also the swallowships, led by Rtn. Patrick Gituku were very addictive.

Getting involved in Rotary activities is always a pleasure as it is all about been the inspiration as you are making the difference. I have managed to stay i Rotary because of the networking opportunity one gets, its a worldwide organization so you'll have the chance to network globally, then the meaningful friendships.

I have had many fun and best moments in Rotary just to highlight a few; The opportunity to give and see the smiles on the people, Kiringo water project, Sholinke water project and the frequent children home visits make my great moments. Also the District Conventions and the Rotary International Conventions make my moments. They provide opportunities to travel. I have vowed not to miss any. I will be serving as a District officer to ensure Rotarians from District 9212(Kenye, Ethiopia, Eritrea and South Sudan)  attend the 2020 convention in Hawaii.

I would urge you to join rotary or rotaract because rotary develops your leadership, social, public speaking, personal and vocational skills as well as improving cultural awareness. Clubs organise programs and weekly meetings to keep members informed about what is going on in the community, the country and the world.

Cheers to Rotary and Rotaract world over.
Bless!
