Best dancers get treats and treats are food - Meltreen Sikele

Food and fun, any opportunity to have these two in one plate is definitely welcome. November 2013, my first ever Rotaract JKUAT Fun Night, my initiation into Rotary. How I got to emerge the best dancer is still but a mystery. Best dancers get treats and treats are food. That was not enough though. I still had to find out more about this amazing club and with my curiosity followed a series of more food, fun and most important service to humanity. I have had my share of crazy, funny, interesting moments all along but only one word to describe them, “unforgettable”. Being part of the Rotary family gives me a purpose to move on no matter what I may go through in life. This is the satisfaction of knowing I have a family of enthusiasts out there, ready to face whatever challenge life throws their way and in the process make our community a better place.

I have made lots of friends, acquaintances and who knows, I might be lucky enough to find my knight in shining armor “coughs” in Rotaract. To say that I’m an outgoing individual is an understatement. In Rotary however I have met guys who literally operate on high levels of adrenaline and still have time for ‘swallowship’ at the end of the day. I have a lot of Rotaract memories to narrate till the end of time but just to mention one of my favorites is the annual Sunshine Rally. I have been attending since 2014 and I can't foresee my absence no matter what excuse arises. It's always a pleasure to interact and serve the young kids present and at the end of the day the feeling of accomplishment that comes with it is enough to get me going till the next one.

For those who had a chance to make my acquaintance way back in primary school, they'd attest to the miraculous transformation as I was the typical shy, withdrawn young gir who stood out for being quiet. Well, my fellow Rotaractors will tell a different story... She's the lady that can shout, dance out of tune to both existent and nonexistent beats and still has energy left to narrate a fake story at the end of the day. In summary, Rotaract has moulded me into the person I am today. I am a made leader, an excellent public speaker and a courageous, smart and caring lady thanks to Rotaract. I believe I still have a long way to go and no place better than Rotaract to belong and grow both personally and socially.

Many thanks to Rotaract JKUAT for molding me into the great lady I am today. RC Thika for being the great mentors to RAC JKUAT and for the support all through campus. Since joining RAC Ongata Rongai, my dream is to grow and later transition into a Rotarian, join hands with the great minds out there and make the world a better, safer and healthier place for all. If I could go back through time, I would join Rotaract infinity times over and encourage everyone out there to identify a Rotaract club to belong.

  3. To some people who are not very familiar with how the exotic dancing industry works, working in the adult entertainment industry is something that is of negative connotation. Women who work in gentlemen's clubs are labeled with different offensive names and most are considered outcasts hire exotic dancers in Austin Texas
